I really like to use Texas native plants in my landscapes..Low maintenance and drought tolerant once established..I try to plant native wildflowers and shrubs that attract birds and butterflies..I very rarely water my natives..A plant has to be tough to survive our hot Texas summers..Especially in my garden.. My landscape also includes a pond and bog area to provide food, water and shelter for birds and other critters..Numerous bird houses dot the property also..My interests are not limited entirely to natives.I like the gingers and clerodendrons also..Even a cactus or two ...Now if I could just get rid of all those Chinese tallow trees !!!!
